No real reads on villain, I was massively multitabling and my computer was acting up, so I would have no idea on how he got his stack at the time

This is a flush draw or an open-ended straight draw more often than you might think. I certainly have a hard time folding after we've already put 1/3 of our chips in the pot. The opponent could easily have a hand like Q J or A T, both of which you are almost 60% against with a ton of chips already in the pot. Even against a massive drawing hand like 8 7, we are only a slight dog. I shove over his raise. Sometimes we run up against AQ, 2-pair, or a flopped set, but them's the breaks. Sometimes this is even just someone who doesn't believe you being an idiot with Q7 or A6.

Sort of sucks that you're up against a fellow big stack, but I agree with the others, you are ahead of his range, shove over. I have even seen opps fold in this spot
