I spend an hour doing the math to figure out what time I will have to go to bed if I win this thing and is it worth it to stay up 5+ hours. Sleep depravation*$/hr

Your brain is a muscle - the more you play, the more it'll know what to do automatically without having to think too hard. Study the maths side of it, make trigger posters (e.g. shoving ranges are the best one) with your ranges and use them regularly. Try and memorize stuff. Don't play too many tables, the more you play the quicker your decisions will become and the more tables you'll be able to play in time

I always liked late reg-ing 4-6 tourneys on the small end of my BI range at start of session - say at 1:30 if I was heading down to play the 2 PM PLO tourneys. That way you can play some easier resteal/push/fold spots right away with low risk and get your juices going.
