    villain is chap from other post. he continued to play solidly, yet i didint get to see much of his cards. only time i did he was strong. was quite tight heads up, hard to say if he s ICM aware. anyway, not sure what to do here. is it very read dependent?

    what does ICM have to do with HU?

    If you are unsure what to do here I would just check the flop and go from there. I would call as played, too many draws/worse 8s he could have. He would probably think you would check most jacks and also think you would raise ~JT+ pre.

    Personally I would have shoved back preflop with K8o rather than checking.

    Idda shoved over his limp pre ... on the flop I would be going for a c/shove since it allows him to bet a ton of his crap hands where stabbing and getting raised def narrows his range , but with that being said i would call , as i suspect there are enough worse 8s , draws and the occasional air in his range.

    Sorry thats a fold. as everybody is saying you should have pushed preflop instead of checking. If hes a solid player most surely he has J somethin

    You don't think straight draws, flush draws, weaker 8s shove here????
