    Default Auto-shove 99?

Sorry I don't have the formal hand history for this, but this was last night in a 45-man $10+1 SNG on Full Tilt.

There are 14 players left and the top 6 make the money.

I have about 13BB's left and the average is 20BB's.

Folds to me in the cutoff with 99. Shove right?

Also, the guy in the SB with about 18BB's had been running his mouth in the chatbox about what a super-pro he is. I looked him up, and his is a winning player at 45 SNG's, but no impressively so. Anyway, he called with ATo. Was that the right move for him?

I'm only asking because his stats are better than mine, and I would fold ATo in that spot every time. Maybe he's right and I'm wrong?

    are there antes?

It's about even money if he thinks you're shoving 20%, he's a 2/1 (edit 3/2) favorite if it's 50%. Depends on his read on you, some people are shoving almost ATC in that spot.

Anyone bragging about being a pro is goofy and probably does not understand much about the game, especially when they are playing a $10 SNG.

    No antes.

I think my stats at that point were about 23/12 over maybe 80 hands. But we had consolidated tables recently and he had only seen about 14 hands, and I don't think I played any of them.

So, I can't imagine he's putting me on 50% hands. He has to assume I'm an average $10 sng player on Full Tilt. So even if he puts me on 20% hands and is even money, should he still fold? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't like making break even calls, especially against unknown players. I like to be the one betting and make my opponent make the decision.

And my original question, 99 is a definite shove right?

yes, shove any pp and locate a tool or chart you like regarding when to open shove.

Break even refers to the equity he has against your hand, he's getting some overlay on the pot from the blinds so he'll make chips long run. He loses a bit of equity since the BB will pick up a monster a couple %.

I can't really answer your question. Maybe he thinks he plays a lot better with a big stack, maybe he just likes to gamble. Maybe he expects you would raise rather than shove with big pairs and AK/AQ so he figures you mostly have small PPs and Ax/Kx. Maybe he's got 40 tables running and takes every close spot he gets.

We can say for sure that if his range for you is 20%, it's not going to be a great play or a terrible play to call.

Kill everyone has a chart that has you shoving about 22%, and him calling with 12%, which is A9o+, A8s+, KJs, KQ. Chart doesn't account for $EV/ICM. I doubt it's a huge factor with these stacks and 8 elims left but you can google for ICM calculators if you like.
