Tangling with a LAG

    Default Tangling with a LAG

Villain in all these hands is an ultra lag, running 36/30/4. I'm playing pretty laggy too. Before these hands came up (which are presented in the order they happened), he had 3 bet me multiple times and 4-bet me twice, and every time I folded.

In this hand I was getting fed up of the incessant 3betting and decided to make a stand . On the flop I'm floating to take it away on the turn if he checks. Call when I hit my J and he pushes?

    SB ($59)
    BB ($199.80)
    Hero ($124)
    MP ($199.10)
    CO ($100)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J, A.
Hero raises to $4, 4 folds, BB raises to $15, Hero calls $11.

    Flop: ($30.50) 4, 3, 9 (2 players)
BB bets $24, Hero calls $24.

    Turn: ($78.50) J (2 players)
    BB bets $160.8 (All-In), Hero calls $85 (All-In).

    River: ($324.30) 3 (2 players, 2 all-in)

    Final Pot: $324.30

Is this is a push after he 4-bets given that his four betting range is wider than QQ+ most likely?

    SB ($122.50)
    Hero ($216.50)
    UTG ($200.50)
    Button ($97)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J.
2 folds, SB raises to $5, Hero raises to $20, SB raises to $53, Hero raises to $216.5, SB calls $69.50 (All-In).

    Flop: ($339) 5, 4, 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Turn: ($339) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: ($339) 9 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Final Pot: $339

Like my line here? I think he's betting ATC when I check but only calling if I lead out with hands that beat me. Folding after I bet is too weak given how aggro he was right?

Do you lay this down this deep? I had a really bad feeling when I called but I think his range is wider than just aces...

There is $40 in the pot with $70 behind, I think checking here is a pretty huge mistake. You should have planned this one out pre-flop.

Without knowing what LAG has shown down, it's kinda hard to guess what to do.

Hand 1 would fold on turn, maybe even pre-flop, it seems like an overpair defense.

Hand 2: if he's super laggy, JJ is not that bad to go in with. I'm guessing villain flips over AK.

Hand 3: 99 is too hard to play post flop in this pot size, IMO, and very vulnerable to a LAG's A2C re-raise. I would just play 99 for set value, which you can extract on a LAG.

Hand 4: I always am OK going AI with KK preflop, unless I have stats on opp showing they almost only push AI pf with aa.

Hand 1 I didn't play too well I agree. I should have folded preflop and on every street. Yeah I should have just flat called in the 99 hand preflop, but once I reraise I think I played it fine postflop--I really don't have any other option except open-pushing or check-folding both of which aren't very good.

    Results:
1st hand he had AK and my pair of Jacks takes it.

2nd hand his KK held up

3rd hand he had J7s and wins with a pair of Jacks

4th hand he has QQ and hits the luckbox set on the turn
