Default Taking a terrible player to valuetown on two scary boards

    Opponent is 42/14

He's stubborn post-flop (for a while I didn't see him ever fold to a flop bet) and capable of odd acts of aggression, particularly on late streets.

i think we can go for more value on hand 1 on river. unlikley to get c/r'd, wont get called by missed draws anyway, all draws missed so pairs will call us.

    hand 2 - i like

Is there value in 2? What hands is he calling the river raise with? I mean I'm not folding to this guy, but other than a few Ax hands I'm not sure we're being called by many worse hands are we?
Just dipping my toes back in.

hand 1 - I understand what you're going for but you can bet the river a bit bigger

hand 2 I think you need to go for easy 3 streets

In both hands he paid me off.

    Hand 1: He had AKo
Hand 2: He had A7o no spade.

Those built my stack up (and chipped away at his) setting up this hand:

Hand 1: Why do you check behind flop instead of betting? Only reason I see for not betting is when we're afraid of getting c/r-ed too often, but I doubt that's the case here.

Hand 2: Betting turn is standard for me here, and against this villain I'd go for 3 streets.

He's loose, erratic and I didn't want to face a big river donk like he'd pulled on me in a couple prior hands. Figured I'd check behind to see how the turn effected my equity and to pot control.

I guess I got burned a couple times on boards like this where I was OOP and against tigher oppoents, bet out and priced myself in for a lot of money I didn't have to put in behind. It's a spot I resolved to change how I played. In this hand my opponent sucks and I'm in position, I should have bet.
