Getting Value with nuts on river vs maniac

Villain is spewwy maniac. In a hand last week he 3 bet with 57s, called my 4-bet and shoved a 2 spade flop against my aces and he won.

Preflop 3 bet seemed automatic for these reasons mentioned. I insta-shoved river, thinking he would call with any set, any Q and maybe 2 pair, he's that bad.

Is the overshove ok or is standard value bet better?

Easy to say bet smaller in retrospect. I'd still not overbet the pot.

I'm kinda torn. I think your calling range is pretty good, so this cant be too bad. Given your read of maniac though, I'm tempted to try to take advantage of that by betting small and hoping he'll shove over.

Probably fine like this. Cant see even a maniac doing much without a Q here.

what was your flop plan?

Hard to put him on a big hand.

Kinda unsure I guess. Looks like a pretty bad spot for a cbet as this connects with a ton of his range and he probably won't fold any Kx or Jx and could often 3 bet and I don't like b/f with one over and gutshot to nuts.

. . . and I think the turn bet is pretty terrible including the size. If he was a man he would have raise/folded you right there with air. Your range is so light on hands that would check thru a flop like that and stack off the turn. Unless he is on a 2nd level and knows you will try to CR him light because of his aggro-ness. If that is the case the turn bet needs to be bigger to rep a missed flop bet.

I cbet this flop b/c he has to realize this flop is going to hit you hard also. I think he raises all K's and pair+draw hands so you can fold knowing you're easily behind.

so then you were check/calling? I would definitely fire like 3/5 pot.

Yeah I guess I shoulda c-bet but what do i do if he 3-bets?

I bet turn to take down the pot as 9 is unlikely to help him, if checked to he's gonna fire, and it looks like a failed flop c/r attempt with a strong hand.

Guess I played this pretty bad but luckboxed the river.

And I don't think this villain is thinking remotely deep at all and had trouble putting him on a range here.
