AA oop facing raise on flop

Wasn't sure of best line vs. this villain his stats are 21/16/6.3 3bet. Aggression Freq of 24% total, 47% on flop. However I do have a note from a previous hand where I just said "played QQ passive pre and on TJ9 rb flop, check 8 turn and just called K river".

So what's the best play when he raises the flop?

I think folding and calling are pretty close here and would hate to do either one. There are a TON of draws in his range which makes playing the turn hard when a diamond, 7,9,T or Q hit.

Btw, your decision here may have been a tad easier had you raised 3Xbb pre then led out with $2.50 on the flop as it makes your stack less awkward in this spot.

I'd rather get it in than calling, so imo it's close between folding and raising and I'd take the latter, I guess I'd just shove it in.

Although I haven't really thought of 3xing pre because of a spot like this and I agree with what you say, I still like 4xing pre UTG for a lot of reasons. Potting this flop makes stacksizes less awkward as well, so hero can do just that imo.

So Gator are you opening to 3x from all positions or even less in late position? I generally have been opening to 4x early and mid and 3x in CO and BTN.

It's close but I like both calling with intention of lead shoving any blank turn and shoving flop.

very close especially since you dont have the Ad i wouldnt worry about it either way

I generally open 3X from all positions except SB where I open 4X

Its pretty close. Being out of position i would lean on getting more money in on the flop and calling a shove. OOP when we call here our hand is pretty face up and he can play really well against our range on that board.
