Right... but im not even sure about c/r a 9 here, it's very close to just c/r air. If the board was more vunerable than i do c/r midpair sometimes but most of the time its more valuable to not overplay a 9 and a Q with a bad kicker here. If you're c/r something like 70% of flops then in the flow of that match a c/r with even a 9 and a good kicker could be for value. Here you said opp was folding pretty tightly to your check raises so I suggest that if you normally c/r a 9 I'd begin to c/c it versus this opponent.
IMO I don't really have a default play in HU, everything is so opponent dependant (I'm sure you know this).
