2 hand from session

villain here is just your typical 25/13/1 player as far as i know. about 100 hands, so no sick reads. my thinking here is he could be easily calling flop with a T, draw or pp which is why i double barreled. i was very unsure of what to do on river, but i guess the only options seem to be c/f or a block bet. comments please.

villain is, you know, just your standard 40/15/1. is this a call/fold/shove. i lean towards calling most the time, shoving like 1/10 times, and folding almost never.

hand 1: vs a full stacked villain i check river and i think villain checks through enough because he looks like a weak Ace. He only has a 1/2 PSB left so it would be really hard for me to fold though if he shoved the rest in.

hand 2: im calling. i dont think anything you beat is calling if you shove.

btw looking at your bet sizing between your turn bet on hand one and your river bet on hand two, an observant player is going to notice you make your bets smaller when you are weak.

double barrelling the turn is a bad idea if you think a T and other smaller pairs are in his range. by double barrelling what you're actually accomplishing the times he does call is weighting his range heavier towards an ace, and lighter from smaller pairs and a T, it's also giving him the opportunity to bluff u off the hand. best to check the turn, let him check behind when he's holding his pairs smaller than an ace and get value from those hands on the river, cuz if u check turn and he c/b (check behind) hes gonna have an ace much less often and u can be much more confident in value betting. if he bets the turn, i would give him credit for the ace and let the hand go.

2nd one ... you have a flush on an unpaired board vs an idiot? all in! lol i was sitting w/ one of my students the other night and a very similar situation happened, we had hte 2nd nut flush and the action was extremely similar ... we got minraised on the river w/ money behind. i was like "god i dont think he will call a reraise all in w/ worse than the nut flush" (we called and dude ended up rivering 2 pr) but this is being really result oriented ... if he is dumb enough to raise u w/ worse on the river, he's very likely dumb enough to call all in w/ worse. it's pretty difficult for him to have a flush and u to have a flush, plus you're beating quite a few combos anyways, i think u miss value against bad players by not moving all in here.

Yeah defo shove river in hand 2, with it being a 40/15, he could have a duece here, maybe even 2pair/set, and there are worse flushes.

Hand #1: I give up after the flop c-bet is called unless I want to run a 3 street bluff (which would be a really bad idea unless you know enough about the villain)

Hand #2: I just call. I can see how some people are advocating a shove but I just don't think there's enough worse flushes in his range, or enough non-flush hands calling. Sometimes this is a donk trying to get value with a good hand that's afraid of the nuts, but I find that's more often in smaller pots. In bigger ones like this I'd think it's definitely a flush and there's more that beat you than those that don't.

Wow i actually agree with marshall, 2nd is definitely a shove. This guy is a bad player, not a reg... In my experience you're gonna see that his calling range is wider than just flushes (especially since you bet it all the way, he probably will never believe you have a flush).

thanks a lot for pointing that out, because i know i do it, but i think someone just needed to point it out for me to stop doing it. i think i got in the habit of doing it by thinking that fish will never notice the difference, so i just kinda developed the habit.
