Default 100NL 150BBs deep with JJ in BvB

Villain is 18/11/1.8 with a 3bet% of 6 after ~200 hands. Do you guys call the 3bet OOP pre or 4bet? Also, what the f do you make of his flat pre?? I think this is QQ-AA 99% of the time but I just want to make sure.

Preflop: Hero is SB with J, J.

I think re-raising pre-flop is bad. I just don't think he's playing back at you light and if he was then JJ is a good hand against that. If I did 4-ball it I would make it a bigger bet.

On the flop I think this is a very easy laydown. I just don't think he's FoS often enough and if he is then good for him.

Similar hand I played today, although this guy wasn't nearly as nitty, also I tend to put a lot of pressure on people's blinds.

Its hard to know where you stand after that strange play preflop. I either call or push this hand preflop
well played nord. When you bet out and get raised you have to fold. Why would he make a play at this pot with AK/aq when you have shown him that u have a hand.

Your 4-bet is so tiny, he might be taking a flop with all sorts of spectulative hands like suited connectors. What does this guy think of you, have you been running him over? I'd probably sigh and stick it in.

You 4-bet him with JJ, expecting him to have QQ-AA 99% of the time when he called you? I think you're wrong about his range but whatever, people don't flat 4-bets that often so being wrong about their range here won't hurt your game that much. The fact that you're making bets and raises that you expect all worse hands to fold to, and all better hands to call, is a way more important issue.

    1) the 4bet size needs to be about 3x (some ppl prefer slightly bigger or smaller depending on their image, 4bet frequency)

    2) you have to ask what the point of your raise is. When you 4bet here, you generally are going to either

    a) get a fold (is this what we wanted)?
    b) look to get all in (is this what we wanted)?

To answer whether the play is right, we need some reads on the opponent. At 100NL this is especially important as 4betting has a much tighter range vs. a random opponent, including the blinds where ppl are defending with 3bets but are not 4bet calling or 5bet shoving with wide ranges. In this spot most villains are folding worse and raising better, which is not what we want.

if however villain has been very aggressive in the blinds the 4bet is great. Just because a villain has been 3betting a lot doesn't always mean he is aggro 5bet shove or 4bet calling a wide range

however as played we made a mistake with our 4bet size. When we make a mistake like this its very hard to play the hand correctly... honestly ignore it, correct it, and move on. It doesn't really matter because we're not going to get into this spot again (hopefully)

mcat, in fnord's hand what is your bet size on river
