Default 1/2 - JJ vs. unknown

Have some stats on him, 18/15/3.5 over a decent sample, but no notes and I can't remember playing with him before. Common spot that I hate...

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    saw flop

    Hero (UTG) ($458.65)
    MP ($294.75)
    CO ($69.20)
    Button ($229.50)
    SB ($580.15)
    BB ($200)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J, J
Hero bets $7, 2 folds, Button calls $7, 2 folds

    Flop: ($17) 3, 4, 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $13, Button raises to $42, Hero...

It might seem quite nitty, but I like a fold here.

don't think it's too nitty to fold this spot.

when we open UTG a lot of people will flat hands including QQ in later positions for instance that could make this play. on this board it's really not even that great for you to cbet unless you have a pair or hands like AK/AQ. I think there's better boards to bluff raise for most regs.

I'd say this is very rarely a hand you crush such as smaller pairs - wouldn't you flat here with hands like 66-TT in his spot?

i think his range here is often sets, and hands like 55, AK/AQ or some other diamond draws with over cards - none of which you are in great shape against.

unless this person has been doing this at least once or twice in recent history i'd say I fold here as well

    if you don't like 3b small/call a shove, I don't like flatting
you won't like an ace, you won't like a 5, you won't like a diamond, probably not crazy about a king/queen
I would like felting with KK+

Yes, yes, I think you should. Very well thought out response IOPQ. I couldn't have said it better, so I didn't.

How much does it suck tho folding JJ but not KK here.don't they basically hold the same value?

can't he be doing this with 55+? QQ+ make up only a small part of his range

Nah I think he floats all mid overpairs even 55 ip

They would but KK beats 2 more hands that probably stack off here while JJ only beats a hand or two that move in & we flip with the rest. Yay variance!

folding, I also hate life with qq-aa.
"This sure beats Super Mario Bros.!" is my ejaculation catch phrase.

well i think AA is fine given we have a ton more equity vs draws. they wont have any overs plus we have gutshot

    3-bet percentage would help.

just make sure no one you're playing with is going to see you're folding this.

I had the same thing before in a sng and they flipped over 56-go figure.
