Skinning Poker Stars...

You can create custom table skin for poker stars.
2 steps involved.

1. Change your shortcut to poker stars. By default it says "pokerstarsupdater.exe" change that to "pokerstars.exe"

2. Go to the "poker stars\gx" directory and photochop some of the images

If you forget to change the shortcut and start poker stars it will overwrite your images with the default ones.

Also you can't "move" certain things like the chips, and the player picture locations.

Don't like the cards? Make New ones. Change that ugly colored background to something more relaxing.

Make a FTR themed table

Want to have alot of fun with a friend?
Swap his card images around. Make all his 2's Aces. Make all his K/q's, 4's and 7's. Oh the mayhem to ensue Its all client side so have fun
just make sure they don't take it to real money tables like that.

Haha, oh my god, would that be evil. To make it even worse, make the ace of diamonds a 2, the ace of spades a 5, the ace of hearts, a 7, etc., for the entire deck. Every pocket pair they'd see would really just be two random cards ...

this is one i found online that got me started with messing around with the logo and stuff.

Very nice. If I wasnt so lazy when it comes to stuff like this I would make some nice ones for myself. I would ask you for yours but the problem is your probably going to give me all the shit to change my cards so I will instantly become a losing player lol.

Make a collage of all these avatars (save soupies) so I have something worth looking at during the game.

All those ladies... and squirrel nuts.

This is excellent to help learn pot odds or other info you want to include. Much easier to make your own backgrounds and look at something that keeps your attention. Very cool find! Thanks for the info!

just rightclick those images and "save image as" or whatever the option is....
replace the file c:\program files\pokerstars\gx\bg.jpg

remember to follow mike's post at the top or else pokerstars will "update" the images

does anybody still have the WPT PS skin? the image link seems to be broken and i lost the image i had.

Hyper, I love your Mods/Skins. I use both the Red and Blue party skins and may use the Pokerstars one as well. I think you should do more. What programs do you use for these?

Everytime i try to change something too it, it effing says it needs an update then over writes the images, gah i did all the steps.

read the very first step again.. that should take care of hte auto-update.

you can run the pokerstarsupdate.exe in the poker stars directory, or just change the shortcut back.

I like the table, not the cards. Actually the cards are from pokermods.com. Either is the same guy or one of the two stole it from the other.

I managed to re-skin PokerRoom so it wasnt as cluttered and its so much better to play on.. its now just a table with a dark red carpet. Ive also added some faint text on the table:
Hands
PFR
VPIP
TA
W2SD
W$SD

to show the order of my pdHUD stats next to all my players, as ive only been using it a few weeks.

Id recommened skinning, making a clutter free room with less distractions makes thinigs 'nice'

PR is a bit tricky to skin [due to its software] buts its possible and i was suprised theres no info or skins out there for this partiacular room?

Does anyone know how to keep the green "tournament table" image from appearing on a tournament table over the skin on pokerstars? Will deleting the image work or will that mess something up?

Probably take that image and change it to the colour of the table.

I'm using the black FTR table with the 4-color cards. It's psychadelic!

Resize the tt.jpg image to 1x1 pixels.
