    Default Full Tilt poker academy

There's some new free training stuff as part of the Full Tilt promotions page. Seems that you accrue points for completing "challenges" - and that these points will be currency for buying tourney entries etc.

Not sure how much value there is in terms of learning, but if you're grinding anyway then you'll be able to complete the challenges and get the points without making too many changes to your game.

Some of the advice and ideas seem a bit naff, as an example
    ="Full Tilt, Chris Ferguson" In early position (UTG, UTG+1, playing 9- or 8-handed), open min-raise (double the big blind) 3 times with the following hands: A-A, K-K, Q-Q, J-J, T-T, 9-9, 8-8, A-K, A-Q.
but whatever. I figure I'll end up ticking these all off without making any special effort to do so, here's hoping i can convert those points to cash sometime

I heard that some of the challenges are 'bluff with any two cards from the cut off' or similar, might want to watch doing that too often

Great initiative from FT, I bet PS are wishing they'd rolled out Intelipoker worldwide already, whenever they get around to it, FT have kind of stolen the thunder now!

I wonder how many players will be in the tournaments you can use your points in.

    Default Points

You can also use the points to buy stuff from their merchandise store.

update - if you grind on Full Tilt then simply sign on up to the cash game challenges. Check occasionally if you have completed one, if so, run it again.

I've accrued >20k academy points by not doing much beyond what i would be doing anyway.
Sure, it's not much, but $100 extra in bonus or a pile of $26 tokens doesn't seem like a bad something-for-nothing...

ask me about it in IRC if you want, or here I guess

I have been using Full Tilt Poker for a number of years now, but I never noticed any of this academy or challenges stuff. Was it really always there, and I just never bothered to notice it, or it something that was just added?

Either way, it sounds really cool to me.

Daven: Thanks for the heads up, and I am honestly surprised that I never noticed this before, considering that I usually play on Full Tilt Poker a few nights out of each week. Now I have something new to enjoy there

doing this as well ..... weird how it affects my normal game , doing the 500 hands without a limp at the moment and its kinda amazing how its forcing me to tighten the F*** upand have some pretty decent pre flop stats. Not sure if the pro 25% increase in roll includes the take 2 bonus which will kick in today and give the 50% increase in roll lol.

this is pretty funny, i just assumed that most FTR regs won't have to adjust their game to tick all the boxes

I know , but as a disclaimer , as a result of it being my freeroll winnings at Full tilt and practising bankroll management I'm playing 2nl there.I was limping a fair bit and calling with multiway hands giving some pretty slack stasts but by being able to fold when i missed and working some big pots when i hit hard was running well.

yeah, no worries dude. I was kidding. At 10nl and below I'd be doing more limping too. And I had to adjust some betsizing for some of the challenges as well. Keep on keeping on!

It's awesome that they allow players to play these tournies and build what could potentially be a bankroll if used properly! I have played in quite a few poker rooms and Full Tilt Poker is definitely one of the greats, although game play can be very frustrating at points the overall interface and promotions make it a great place to test your game...............

What I like in Full Tilt Academy is the sit&learn portion. When you pass the quiz for a certain topic, there is a $1,000 freeroll that you can join for free. There are several lessons that you can choose from ans you can qualify for a freeroll for each lessons. Good luck and see you at the tables.

I Just joined the Full Tilt Poker academy and I can tell you that it is a worth wild venture. Just the advice alone is worth the price of admission....Its my 1st time at Full Tilt and its a bit different from Poker Stars. I look forward to all of the future lessons and using what I learn in the freerolls

Are any of the videos decent quality as far as being beyond beginner/intemediate stuff?
I've only checked out the Academy the first week they had it and have never checked it out again.
