    Drinking your milkshake.
I play it like this, though I'm not too confident of my play when I catch a piece out of the blinds. Good fold to the turn raise anyway. He just posted, so I guess you have to give him credit for > 1 pair here.

Is this a normal play to just check with AQ from the SB with 2 limpers? I'm pretty new at this but I would have raised preflop with that hand, him seeing a free flop here he could have A3, 36, Q3, Q5, 45, all of which could have been pushed out with a decent raise.

Since there were already 2 early position limpers who would be calling my raise anyway, I decided to just check and go from there. Most of the time I would raise this though, especially if its been folded to me

AQ and AK can go either way depending upon your table texture. With AQs I'm more likely to check PF and let the hand play out. Here where there's a poster...If you havent seen him before you probably wanna go the safer route. I like your fold...no reason to go further without a stronger hand and (probably) no read. I'm not thrilled with the weak 1/2 pot bet at the pot on the turn though. 3/4 pot will often freeze em if they are thinking about bluffing back at you.

Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

Even if they will call you anyway you still have got to raise. The object of NLHE is to get as much money into the pot while you are ahead and to stop putting money in while you are behind. You have AQs which means in at least 90% of cases you are a favorite to win this pot preflop, which is why you must raise whether they will call or not. If they call you are forcing them to make a mistake (the other object of NLHE).

Raise also gives you control of the hand whether you hit the TPTK or not.
