Check-calling the flop was a mistake. Any decent player will suspect you have a flush draw with suited overcards when you check-call in that situation. Just pretend to have an overpair and make a standard bet on the flop and try to win the pot immediately. On the turn after a diamond falls is when you should check-call, followed by a medium-sized value bet on the river.
