    Default JJ in MP

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP1 ($58.10)
    Hero (MP2) ($52)
    MP3 ($10)
CO ($9.25) the average short stack donk
    Button ($3.15)
    SB ($26.40)
    BB ($49.70)
    UTG ($55.70)
UTG+1 ($112) regular tight aggressive player

    Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J, J
    1 fold, UTG+1 bets $2, 1 fold, Hero calls $2, 1 fold, CO raises to $9.25 (All-In), 3 folds, UTG+1 calls $7.25,
    Hero calls or raise?

I thought this was a tough decision. I am fine going all in vs the short stack. very likely I am ahead. or 54%, but the UTG+1 can have AJ+, JJ+. so should I re-raise now and try and isolate vs just the short stack? should I just call and see a flop and any non A or K board bet out? I really don't think folding is an option at this point.

As stated above he is an average tight aggressive player.

i think folding here is fine. You barely have set odds and even on a 742 flop you're going to be scared...

You have to call $7.25 to win $21.25. And you have position to boot. Looks like an easy call. I suppose it's possible that UTG+1 has a big hand and was slowish playing knowing that uber donk would most likely re-raise but I call and proceed with caution.

If you have about 7 min to spare then here is a damn fine instructional video on Pocket J's. Probably made the rounds on FTR already.

i hate having to be more aware of my play, my position, the position of other players, their tendencies...
shortstacks are fine. They mean more rakeback too.

If they mean more rakeback, they mean you pay more rake which in the end is a bad thing You just dont notice it on the surface D

not if it's dealt rather than contributed, right?

That is what I thought, and called. Like you I am assuming that a tight aggressive player will want me out of the hand at this point and raise if he has AA or KK. So maybe by moving all-in he will put me on AA or KK slow playing him, and then fold.

    any thoughts?

    flop is :Td:
    and as hoped, UTG+1 checks
pot (~29) hero ? feeler bet of 10-15 or strong bet 20-30 or check which i think is wrong here.
