From an evolutionary standpoint, they gave us our nutrition when we were younger. So I guess we just never got over em.

The question should read "Why are men attracted to boobs today?"

From memory, the leading theory in evolutionary biology is because as a primitive species, mammaries were the main way for males to distinguish the sexes. There was no fashion and no grooming; we all looked much more similar to each other than we do now. This simple distinction goes a long way in pointing mens' natural biological responses for procreation in the correct direction. As time goes on, we developed stronger relations to mammaries than were primary, and that's pretty standard. |

its cultural. There are plenty of places around the world where boobs arent particularly sexual. Women tend to walk around with them on show all the time in those those places but i dont know if that is a cause or a response.

breasts (and breast size) are largely a result of the ratio of the hormones estrogen to testosterone that are present in the body.(I think, although it has been a long time since i took behavioural endocrinology so the details are a little fuzzy). The more estrogen per testosterone, the larger the breasts. They are obviously a measure of health to some extent, but more importantly they are a measure of sexual maturity. |
