There's no "they" collective cabal there where they plot world domination, there's various people with various agendas. There's a bunch of regular folks there, many of them out of touch with regular life and seems like quite a few willing to do selfish stuff to benefit themselves. We're already reliant on them, they don't need to do anything and I find it really hard any majority of them would.
