    Default What now?

So poker is done for at least the near term. I know this is almost offensive for me to post this since this is not my livelihood but just hobby. But damn, this has been one of my most favorite hobbies for over a year.

Option 1: Develop Drinking Problem (-ev)
Option 2: Get really good at video games (0ev)
Option 3: Live grindaments (+ev), but very hard due to transportation costs
Option 4: Ban myself from FTR, 2+2, all other poker related shit and see if im happier in 3 months (~ev)

But seriously, I am looking for some new hobbies now. I live in fairly populated area but work 50/hr a week. Want something that can add value to my life and all options above don't, except maybe 3 and possibly 4.

Open to suggestions. To all the US pros, I'm sorry this really sucks. Good luck and for your sake I hope you find a way to continue to play and thrive.

At the bar drinking whisky with an "e"
I'm seeing this as an opportunity do some in depth study and make some major improvements to my game. I work alot too so when I get home and finally find time to grind I throw the books out the window and just play all too often. I believe we'll get poker back sooner or later so...yeah, study most +EV for me.

I will go back to live games for a while but that's based on a very weak live roll and paycheck dependant so it'll be mostly for fun. We have a local cardhouse in town and an indian casino about an hour away, with the latter obv being softer so even with the drive prolly more greater ev.

I already have a pretty solid drinking problem developed so I'll keep that up as necessary. Hungover as all hell right now :P

i think until the dust settles i'm going to go back to playing 24+hrs a week of live. spending the off-days studying the strategies of some of the regs as best i can pick up on them. or i may deposit some small $$ on a euro or australian site just so i can get my HUD fix and be dealt >25 hands/hour.

go climbing dude. Or something outside. Fuck, you work 50hrs/week - why the hell would you spend your precious free/spare time in front of a computer?!?

I was already planning on taking June/July off to climb around Europe - tickets already booked and paid for. Hence the epic grind plan for april/may. Maybe i'll just train hard instead. Or work on my websites. Whatever, guess come august i may end up looking for a job.

+1 Spend some extra time on just generally bettering yourself and your overall satisfaction with life. Try to apply at least some of the same passion that you have for poker to all other areas in your life and see how enjoyable some of them can become.

I know I'll be doing the same for now. Also gonna grind some of the chicago charitable games and chicago casinos every now and then for the lulz and profit but I think I'll put poker somewhat on the back burner for now. However, if you (!luck) or any other Chicago area guys want to chill at a casino some time let me know.

I actually spent the last few weeks grinding a decent 25nl roll on bodog. While I'm assuming my money is fine for the time being, I may just withdraw and focus on other hobbies. I spend my weekday nights in hotels (which was ideal for grinding minus the shitty hotel connections and tiny work laptop). I'll probably focus on more health/fitness, personal finance focusing on budgeting and saving, reading, and maybe find a new hobby.

Can still play on Cake, Merge and BoDog so you could keep a small roll and cash out often.
