Dante Fumblepepper is done, did you see him play for the Raiders? He's been sitting around for a whole year and likely won't play this year. Yeah, this will end well. We should be trying to develop Stanton.
I agree that Daunte is most likely done judging from his time in Miami and Oakland. Don't forget though, he had one of the best years as a QB in the history of the league in '04, when he certainly would have been the MVP had it not been for Peyton Manning's historic year.
I know that was 4 years ago which is an eternity in the NFL. But what does it cost the Lions? Without checking the details, I'm guessing it's a 1-2 year contract with little, if any guarenteed money. You won't be able to convince me that the roster spot means anything either.. not on the '08 Lions. So it costs virtually nothing, except possible development time for Stanton.......... but I can't imagine that Culpepper is coming in to be the starter... Marinelli can't possibly be that stupid....
