I'm aware of that, but if we are taking about peoples looks helping them in life then we can't really allow the slight sway of women outliving men once they both get to around 70 making any real difference in this argument.

Even if we take into account the fact that males are more likely to die around their younger years, that's probably going to be negligible as more men are born compared to women (could be complete bullshit as I don't know the stats at all)

My whole point is much broader than physical attraction and 'who wants who.' Life doesn't end at 50 and old widowed people often have it very tough. That seems fair to say, and if you have an honest look at whether or not men or women tend to have it better, that is also a fair point to make.

You're right that I probably shouldn't have included it in the finding a mate part. It doesn't really change my other points though to be honest.

Either way, and I have said this many times in the past, there are more desirable women out there than desirable men.

Maybe we can post pictures of douchebags with hot women to drive home the point better than my misguided comment about ratio of men to women.
