I like tons of Incubus, but I think Drive is my favorite. I am surprised how many songs are theirs I know but did not know it was them.

Is there any site to just listen to most decent music without downloading. Typically I just listen to a couple radio stations from this area. I would rather just find a decent site that plays random genre types, kinda like the cable stations.

Renton has (for the most part) excellent taste in music

    More classic rock staples:

Floyd: Dark side LDO, but the few albums preceeding DS are also great. Meddle and obscured by clouds.

David Bowie: Yeah he's a little gay, but ziggy stardust is a fantastic album.

Supertramp: Also a little gay, but their early stuff (crime of the century) rocks. Bloody well right m8.

    The who: Who's next

    Zep 1-5 Obv

Pretty much every beatles record after help. Even magical mystery tour's got some cool tunes...

Jefferson airplane's surrealistic pillow if you're into hippy rock. (somebody to love + white rabbit)

Blue cheer's first two albums if you're into heavier drunken late 60's blues/psych/shred/rock wankerage.

Speaking of clapton / cream...his post-cream project 'blind faith' is decent, and quite possibly the last decent thing he did before turning gay. (derrick & the dominoes is arguably mid-way)

Neil young needs some representing in this thread as well. Everybody knows this is nowhere is one of my favorites. Zuma & tonight's the night are also good if you're bored of harvest / after the gold rush.

Yea I forgot about that. I have a couple stations on media player I used to listen too at work a couple years ago.

Good selections, Renton. I especially like the Gil Sc0tt-Heron, not one many know about. Ever heard the song H2o Gate Blues?

Unfortunate I can't really listen to Bosten anymore they overplayed it so much here.

    I LOOOOVE the blues!

For those who like SRV and other blues rock, check out Too Slim & the Taildraggers. They have a couple live videos to watch (the first one is one my favorite of the two), though the audio quality isn't great.:

Really though, I wanted it to not be an "essential listening" thread but a "recommend some music that you've recently discovered" thread. So posting your top 10 albums/band doesn't count. Posting that great song that you never really listened to before but suddenly just fell for, that counts.

Maybe not a huge difference, and it appears the thread was destined to turn into a general "this band is great" "no its not!" thread anyway. Probably my fault for not stating the premise of the thread anywhere but in the vague title
