I think VP = video poker, there is ideal play, I saw a TV show on it once. Some machines have better payout structure than others, those are the 'good' ones

You can google "full pay" "video poker" and get some charts. Also WizardOfOdds has some resources.

The shorthand for good VP usually refers to the FullHouse/Flush payout at one coin. For example, good JacksOrBetter is 9/6, while crippled payout JoB is 9/5 or 8/6. It brings a game with a 0.3% HA to a game with a 3% HA. Yuck.
Another is DeucesWild VP. "Good" DW is 10/4, and 9/5 is even better.

Whatever game, you want less than 1% HA. Hopefully far less than 1%.
