Theres a very big line that separates humane and gourmet imo. As well as dehumanizing and rehabilitating. People make stupid decisions and mistakes and they deserve to pay for them. It doesn't mean that they need to be degraded to a form lower then animals.
what if it deterred crime and really worked? also fwiw, i think wiki is highly unreliable for anything political. if you want to find out the history of an apple it should be okay.
