screwy computer

long story short is this, i got a extra free computer hooked up to the modem through a cable ive never seen befor. its got an either net hook up on one end and the other end is split with either net and usb hook up. the type of usb that u would find on a wireless mouse. ive been able to get online with it twice, but cant seem to do it again. ive done all i can think of: reset modem, unplug cables, switch usb ports, internet wizard crap. i have gotten online doing this crap, but it doesnt always work. and ive been on the phone with the tech support guy, he says he sees that the modem is on, but cant detect the comp. and i need free anti virus crap if u guys know of any. this comp doesnt have an either net hookup.

all suggestions welcome, this comp is the key to playin NLHE in my room watchin tv... just to give an idea of how much i want this damn thing workin, thanks

Also it looks like you just made an account to ask a tech support question on a poker forum - there are actual computer help forums on the internet believe it or not

or you can buy it as one piece like you have now but the wiring is probably dodgy in your current one.
