Default Reading FTR on the go (GSM) ?

    Hi everyone,

just wondering, if anyone uses a phone or other similar device with GSM that works well at reading and posting on FTR on the go?

would like to be able to check out when i'm on tedius trains etc, and out and about, but don't know much about mobile internet!

I'm in UK - so service options will likely be different, but some comments on devices / handsets etc that work well would be great!

    Thanks

I'm using a motorola droid to write this post right now. I'm constantly on reading FTR with my phone.

HTC desire - droid, works great, about half my posts come from my phone. It's great for reading the site & the internet is super fast and unlimited with tmobile. Only downside is trying to write long messages which is a pain in the ass.

I have a ZTE blade, that I have rooted and put android 2.2 on. Works pretty well and I picked it up for £89.99.

I use giffgaff for my service provider, which as far as I know is the cheapest out there.

    8p/min to mobiles
    4p/miin landlines
Data is currently free until end of March @ 100mb/day. After that they will introduce charges.
Although if you buy a goodybag for £10+ per month you will get unlimited and I mean UNLIMITED web usage. There are no fair usage policies on this network. Also with £10+ goodybag you will get inclusive minutes depending how much you spend and also UNLIMITED texts.

obv you can xfer your existing number

also they offer what is called payback, meaning if you contribute on their forums you will get money back bi-annually. Last year between July-Dec I got £50 for a few hours on the forums and signing a few ppl up. more than I spent topping up.

sorry to spam check it out anyway, simple google search.

hit me up if youd be interested to join I can get you a SIM with bonus credit,

Thanks everyone that's useful to know. Muzzard, I already use giffgaff in my sim didn't realise they gave free internet time, probabally because i've never had an internet ready phone before. Looking around the motorola website, their droid has a built in large keyboard which looks great, i'm going to check them all out. Just checked out the zte blade and it does look very cool will look more into them, thanks

This one looks very good, but i'll need to look into it, as I don't know much about these DROID by Motorola - Android phone - Overview - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA
