Driving is one of those things that everyone thinks they're better at than everyone else. Some people are so delusional that they actually claim they drive better when plastered than the average person does when sober.

I feel like I'm the only person who admits that he's not that great at it. I don't do anything flagrantly retarded like drink or text, but I have trouble staying as alert sometimes, especially on longer trips. Because of this I usually camp out in the trucks and old people lane, unless the road is really empty, then I feel safe going fast. Having said that I've never caused an accident (got rear-ended at a red light by a complete moron stoner once) but sometimes I feel like I've just run good.

Also I don't think 50% of drivers should lose their license, it's just that the ones who suck are soooo bad it's terrifying. Especially the jerks who use their phones, they should be permabanned and can just ride the city bus for the rest of their lives.

I'd say the vast majority of people suck at driving, it's a pretty difficult skill and takes serious focus which most don't have, myself included sometimes.

The thing that gets to me the most is discourteous drivers, which comes in many shapes and forms. In the end I understand there are going to be accidents b/c shit happens, but I cannot stand people acting like they're the only ones on the road.

My driving record is pretty clean, one accident, was plowed into by a drunk driver at 4am, but I've been lucky a few times myself in avoiding accidents. There have been numerous times where I've lost focus/concentration and could have been in a tough spot, but that's going to happen, and that's 8+ years of driving.

Finally got around to watching two movies I've been waiting to see, "Milk" and "Jackie Brown". Milk was solid, I knew nothing about the story going into the film but really enjoyed Penn as always. Not sure it was "Oscar worthy" until I went back and looked at last year's nominees, and ya, easily a winner for me.

Perhaps ignorance would have served me better going into Jackie Brown, as I think it had been talked up too much, and I ended up thinking it was a bit mediocre. It's not that I found anything particularly bad, I just didn't find myself connecting to the characters at all, no one stood out to me. Glad I watched it, need to watch the scene/part he directed in "four rooms" to complete my Tarantino viewing experience.

Im a shitty driver. And I really hate driving in even the lightest 2 lane traffic. I have real trouble focusing when Im in a moving car. Something about the radio and the moving scenery just amps up my day-dreaming. I talk a lot, but I can drive for 10 hours in silence in a car (behind the wheel or not).

So if anyone needs a good example of someone you're definitely a better driver than, look no further. As I never pay enough attention, don't really know all of the "rules of the road," and ive been in 1 accident that was clearly my fault.

Money-wise, I wish I could have convinced my wife to get hitched at the courthouse, but there was no way. Looking back she is so happy we had our big wedding, I'm happy with it too, all is good. Either way, remember that if you guys are a great couple it all works out in the end.
