Default The official non-US players speculation thread

Sorry in advance to all you americans who will open this, cos if you don't hate freedom, you'll hate this thread.

It obviously sucks for everyone in the US right now, but since I'm not them I don't really care, so:
Is this a good thing for us? I always thought online poker will be amazing once it's completely legalized in the US again. But just maybe it will still be amazing now. The last day on FTP, when Stars was already closed was the fishiest I have ever seen at 100NL - mostly due to US players making a last run for glory, so that wasn't indicative of anything.

I could kick myself for not being able to play... Work is so -EV ffs.
So how's the Stars/FTP/UB grind going for you guys?

is it times for non us players to get off the smaller networks still serving US players like merge. They had liquidity/payout problems over christmas so are unlikely to have the reserves to fight off the next round of website attacks by the DOJ.

Couple with the that the fact that us regs could well descend on them the games are gonna get a lot harder on those networks.

can pkr be multitabled effectively? I like their live venue and considered pkr in light of this but last time I tried them about a year ago anything 4+ tables was nigh on impossible
  10. #10
PKR has minimal traffic and shitty software you won't be able to multitable well with.

The iPoker, Ongame and Entraction networks all have much larger player pools, and Party of course (but be warned that Entraction has a somewhat scammy rep). I've spent time at each, liked iPoker software the best. You'll also never run out of kickback opportunities with iPoker.
  11. #11
played at entraction december/january. never again , the software is terrible and seemed to be an awfull lot of hands destined to go all in multiway oh and if you play fullring forget it .hardly any tables running.

thoughts on Ongame? I think this is my #1 choice so far for when I get my roll back, but I'd like to hear firsthand from anyone, if possible; what are the games like, how is the rakeback / rewards structure, etc.

People are making huge stacks in the Ongame tables right now from me spewing buy-ins left and right. You can't possibly sit at my table and not make a profit if you get to the river.

I like Ongame despite chunky software (you will have a hard time with more than 6-8 tables no matter what specs your computer has) and some odd choices (like, they don't have waiting lists). The player pool is fairly large during Eurocentric times with soft games but a decent amount of regs as well. I always got quick responses from support. The initial deposit bonuses are generous and while there is no rb offered, they do have a pretty good tiered rewards structure that will return up to 40% on an ongoing basis (but you're looking at extreme grinding to get the max 40%).

And again, lots of kickback opportunities due to the many skins on the network. Finish a kickback on one skin, rinse and repeat on the next. You can easily get 100%+ equivalency to rakeback through kickbacks and initial bonuses.

One more thing: they don't have 6-max tables, only 5-max.

This I like Ongame, other than their brutal software. Random crashes (once a week I'd say). 4 tabling on there + other sites' tables is the max for my machine, which isn't too bad with 4GB ram, dual core 2ghz. 5 or more and it starts chugging
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

fuck, that actually sounds pretty horrible I really don;t want to deposit on more than one site for the foreseeable future

I thought ongame had really fast software i.e. lots of hands / hour per table

at least I am led to believe as much from reading Ravageur's blog

    Edit: found it:

    thoughts?

EDIT X2: I should say that I normally 6 or 9-table full ring. Doable, not doable?

EDIT X3: I should also say that my system has pretty much the same specs as yours, kornholio.

Doable. You must have missed the part where Kornholio said 4 tables + other sites' tables. Sounds like he has lots of shit open.

It's not like you have to throw money on a site before checking this sort of thing out though. Open an account and watch 9 tables before depositing, see if you have problems.

Ongame is the shits for Kanukistans. Give it some time to figure out the software and then the no waitlists and shit feels right. Hit me up if you want to skin it to look a little better. There are a few free mods to make it more playable with huds and shit. The amount of fish and decent RB/VIP deals makes up for all the shitty things.

Yeah sounds good. I will almost definitely want to skin it differently, I had a really nice layout / deck going on on PS before the shit hit the fan.

I might need a bit of a walkthru as to how I should go about signing up and such to make sure I get a rakeback deal (only give me a referral if I can verify it won't affect my own rakeback, in which case I'd be glad to go through you) and a proper bonus. And the bit about the various skins, not sure how this works either.

Anyhow I'm waiting on withdrawals now, I'd expect to get back into the swing of things on May 1, after finals, coincidentally.

I guess PM me or refer me to somewhere I can get the details on all the above?

And thanks everyone for your input on Ongame

Yeah....I have an early 2010 run of the mill Dell desktop and I've been 9-13 tabling cash at Ongame for the past 2 months. Sure I've had maybe 4-5 crashes during that period of time but the software is pretty darn good (uber fast) if you ask me.

Is anybody considering the idea of sticking with stars/ft? I don't like change and my experience of playing yesterday was no different to normal. Plus nowhere else gas rush which is also swaying me a bit.

i'll stay on ftp until the games get tough. So far they're fine. Less selection, but whatever. Have heard good things about the games on stars too.

50nl rush seems a bit more aggro pre and a bit more nitty post but that's hardly a problem. That and maybe half the player pool are the only real differences I've seen.

How possible do you think, get a US (obv big winning player) to ghost as a Euro player plays.

ie they watch the game and you speak over skpe about what you have.

    Split the winnings....

Sounds like you should make a web 2.0 web site that coordinates and takes a little rake for itself!
