I guess it wasn't awful, but what really bothers me is that kind of used-to-be-butch-but-has-settled-down-with-wife-and-kid-and-the-neighbors-like-him-because-he's-just-a-great-dude - character that they shoehorn into every single B-production lately. I guess they want everybody to be able to identify, but in the end nobody can identify with him because nobody that bland exists in the real world. And on top of that they forget that in this particular movie that-guy-that-makes-faceless-dude-from-hellraiser-look-like-a-three-dimensional-character is supposed to shoot his own dumb son right in his stupid face according to the script, and when they get to it, it makes sense to absolutely noone, least of all the actor which was painfully obvious.
I would have rather seen this as a true b-production with more artistic freedom instead of $18M spent on shitty CGI and the marketing department right up the directors ass.
