People get all complacent after they vote, as if that person is anything other than another politician with their own goals and agendas. The solution (I suspect) is to stop trusting the people you vote for, not to vote against people you distrust.
I'm just puzzled by the lack of immediate reaction. Sure there were some protests when Sessions was fired... Within my lifetime, I've seen Seattle burn for less than that. I literally remember who it was that came up to me and showed me a paper and said: This is the town Nirvana is from! - because it was 1999 and if you were a teenager in 1999, that's how you did geography. I had to look up what that was about. Some WTO shit. Don't even care.
Right now you have a dog whistling racist in the white house who is without any reasonable doubt acting on behalf of hostile nations. And the best you can do is a sign that says "this is not my president." At least burn a fucking car down. Burn down an expensive one, they're more likely to be insured... make a point, don't be an asshole.
