You receive privileged status in your culture because you are white. Whether or not you asked for it or not is beside the point. You have access to certain services and treatment that other people do not have access to on the basis of their skin color.
No one here is saying they have a right to be racist.
We're saying that for you to pretend that you do not benefit from systems which do not benefit them is you being an ass.
We're saying that while you may not notice these social perks you have access to, they certainly notice they do not have that access.
We're saying that the the legacy of white people oppressing non-white people is still everywhere, and non-white people can't help but see it everywhere they go.
It's not OK for them to blame unnamed white people, but the reality is that the blame falls on unnamed white people, so that puts them in a shitty spot all over again.
They can call me a Honky or White Devil all day long and I don't mind, 'cause at the end of it all, I have access to bank loans that allow me to live in a house I haven't paid for in a neighborhood where no one owns their houses or their cars, but everyone has a house and multiple cars. Which of us is the racist again? The one taking advantage of priveleges they didn't do anything to earn? or the one pointing out how that's BS?
