Meh Walt always had amazing luck, at least with regard to his own survival. The only things that were unlucky for walt had to do with his family's perception of him, i.e. the deal with Gus going down just as Skyler is giving birth. The show even recognizes Walt's luck with Jesse's important line to Hank. I think the reason why you feel this way is because the chips have been down for Walt for the last half of the season and his short term luck makes such a 180 in the finale, and for that I agree with you a little.
I was somewhat let down by the episode. I think the characters were too mired in despair brought on over the last few episodes for such a neat and clean ending. I think a bittersweet ending would have been a little more appropriate. For example, what would people have thought if instead of catching a stray, Walt is completely unscathed after the Nazi attack, but Jesse still can't bring himself to forgive him and shoots him, then Vince Gilligan credits?
