The Eagles are officially a disaster zone right now.
All of the moves made in the past 2-3 seasons came back to haunt them today:
1. Safety -- Not having Plan B when they decided Brian Dawkins was too old. The 2009 season was lost because of this. Not drafting Earl Thomas (like everyone expected) in 2010, followed up by taking Nate Allen (Donovan McNabb's legacy pick) in the second round. Allen can't play.
2. The linebackers are nowhere near NFL caliber. Not signing a veteran LB in an offseason where they were making celebrated signings of backup QBs and third cornerbacks is inexcusable. Basically, this team has never developed a LB or S beyond the guys that Reid inherited 13 years (Dawkins, Trotter).
3. Rookie kicker misses two field goals.
4. Making your offensive line coach your defensive coordinator is pretty ballsy but looks pretty stupid right now. Three straight fourth quarter disasters in which the other team moved the ball at will.
5. Throwing the ball 90% of the time when you have a lead is standard Andy Reid.
6. Nnamdi looks terrible, and I don't know what to make of that. He looks like the fourth-best corner on the team.
7. The rookie 6th-round draft pick plays well at times at C but the interior of the offensive line is a major reason why they can't convert on third-and-goal every week.
