I am looking for a new point and shoot. I don't want Sony for Boost's proprietary cable reasons.

I want something that takes pictures fast, 1080p video, wide angle lens, the more compact the better, high zoom is fine. I'm also curious about the "tough shell/underwater" cameras, as I'd love to be more comfortable handing it over to my kids to take pictures. Also prefer closer to $100... so it looks like all the cheaper hard shell things are pretty shitty.
