I also need a logo designed. I have made a really shit version myself using paint, so the colours and the gist of it are there, just need someone ro finish it off.

Also need to make a website. Ant ideas on where to start?

How much money are you looking to putting into your website?

I have no idea but Doesn't need to be up and running until Feb. I know nothing about creating or managing a website so I've got 9 months to learn. I figure either I do it myself with advice from friends or pay someone, but I have no idea of costs.

Feel free to advise re costs and/or where I should start my journey of learning.

@ dc, if I message you my shit logo, how much do you want to make it pretty. It's a simple design.

Well I assume it'll probably be a reasonably simple pen tool trace in Illustrator and recolor, etc. As far as I know freelance is a mix between price per project and hourly. If you want to pm me the logo and an offer I'll take a look at it and give you an estimate. I can also do website layouts though I'm not a coding wiz by any means. I am in the process of creating my own portfolio site currently so that part is still kind of a learning process.

But yeah if you'd like just pm me with what you want done, the logo, potential colors or whatever other info you think I would need to make it how you want it.

Costs and skill set can vary greatly obviously. If you can find a studio of talented folks starting out and looking to get business you'll get a pretty quality deal. Of course, talented noobs are hard to compare to experienced developer/designers.

To give an idea of prices I think most decent established studios will charge you around $100/h. The one I work at now charges $125/h. Freelancers come cheaper but at the same time they won't have the same resources as a studio and a lot of the time a freelancer is just a guy that can't get a job elsewhere. Not to completely write them off, there are still decent ones.

The most important thing is to know what you want from your site and if whoever you're hiring can provide that. PM me if you want to get into specifics or if there's anyone out there you're considering and would like someone to let you know if they're worthwhile or not.
