Lots of picks for Lukie's Browns in that first round.

Hoping the Pats get some defense.

As a Rams fan, I couldn't be more excited. It'll be really difficult to fuck up this draft. We can take any of Kahlil, Claiborne, or Blackmon and I'll be elated. I will be crushed if we draft Richardson. I am staunchly in the camp of OL makes for excellent rushing teams. There's also enormous depth at DT in this draft... so it'll be great once we come out of the 2nd round, with what will likely be a DB, a DT and a WR... without reaching or doing dumb shit.

We even have the picks to jump back into the first round for a WR or Fleener if there's a guy we like. I don't get into the analysis quite like I used to but when we traded down with the Skins.. it was probably my happiest draft moment ever... well, except that time when the Bills drafted Donte Whitner, or when the Packers drafted Justin Harrell. Or maybe, when the Raiders drafted Mike Mitchell in the 2nd round.... oh wow, do I <3 the draft.

    Sanchize to the Browns.

The Browns continue to fail in spectacular fashion. I love the AFC North.

First time in a coon's age the lions arent picking in the top.10. Feels good man, feels good.

Kirkpatricj slips ONE TIME. Barring that Chandler Jomes or Janoris Jenkins. Worth the risk for a top 5 talent IMO.

Ok, just checked a few different links on the internet, the term 'coon's age refers to the life span of a raccoon, and predates the racial usage of the word coon. Its a saying to mean in a long time, hwich I believe I used properly this case.

Now im curious if you were leveling or if you actually thought it was racist. And if the latter, what your source is.

The Hawks pick has me and just about everyone confused. I was hoping for either of the picks that NE made.

I hadn't heard of Bruce Irvin before. His background doesn't bother me much. He looks to be an incredible pass rusher, but has pretty much no experience doing anything else. This is a pick that'll make the front office look brilliant or idiotic.

I do think that we'd have traded down if would could have found a trade partner, but I don't think he'd have been there when we pick in the 2nd. If he's the guy they truly think will help the team the most you have to like that don't care how the pick is perceived...as long as it works out.

Seattle widely panned as biggest reach of Day 1, and he's a guy who doesn't seem to be a fit for their defense. :::shrugs:::

First time in years that I was extremely pleased with the Eagles' pick. Didn't want any part of Poe or Coples, two guys widley mocked to go to them. Cox is their first pick in years that I thought A. was the best athlete available B. could make an immediate impact and C. had huge upside.

Actually, one thing that makes me more comfortable with Bruce Irvin is that he'll fit our defense extremely well.

Not that draft rumors are to be trusted, but I've read that SF, NE, and NYJ (picking next at 16) wanted him.

If it was an offensive player they reached for I'd be more concerned, but so far Carroll/Schneider have an excellent track record for identifying players that can excel in our defense.

3 for 3 future hall of famers fall to the Steelers in each pick. Is the rest of the NFL even trying?

Gotta be rough to be an AFC North fan. It seemed like the Bengals got value at every pick but the Steelers and Ravens just crippled the deck.

This is the happiest I've been on Draft Weekend as an Eagles fan ever.

I was angruface at the wr pick in 2nd round as a knee jerk reaction, but I like it more more now that ive had time to think about it. Going defense in the last five rounds definitely helped.

    Inb4 dynasty.

I don't understand why we didn't pick more players on offense. It's where we need the most help, but we got a QB, a RB, and 8 defenders. Lots of projects with huge upside. Most won't stick around for long, but we'll end up with a few very good players.

    Wait and see I guess.

chris rainey gon text ben rof - time to die , bitch - he likes to do that

as a chiefs fan, not the best, not the worse

hate dontari poe in 1st round, some people play football cuz they have passion, some people play it because they have the physical gifts...
  28. #28
I didn't want any part of Poe. Classic case of a guy whose stock rose because of the combine. I could see him being a fit in a 3-4 system where he can occupy blockers, but yeah, I'd rather take the guy who had production and is a high-motor guy.

Seems like the Eagles and the three non-Browns AFC North teams had the best drafts. SI listed top 10 steals of the draft, and the Eagles had 3.

They should have at least 2 Week 1 starters in Cox and Kendricks. Brandon Boykin has a great chance to be the team's nickel CB and KR/PR. They play nickel about 50% of the snaps, so that's basically a starter. Their 6th-round picks were great, OL Washington who was great as a G in 2010 and struggled at T last year; and WR McNutt, who for sure should make the team as WR4 and probably move up to WR3 by next year.

Eagles made a great move by signing RB Chris Polk as UFA. Polk had a great career and a second-round grade and got red-flagged over injury concerns. He has a great chance to make the team and be better than Dion Lewis. They also signed some guys with big upside who had character issues. There are some years where the Eagles got better players in UFA than in the draft.

I was just coming in here to say that the Eagles are going to be very happy with Polk. I can't believe nobody took a chance on him in the draft. I was really hoping we'd pick him up.

Was.hoping the lions would snap him up too...

@baudib should we start preseason trash talk now or do you want to admit you guys will disappoint again this year? I've got a shoulder for you to cry on. Just tell me when.

I'll lay off the superlatives and just settle for 15-1, 3 straight 42-0 wins in the postseason.

Deal. But they're the 3rd seed behind the undefeated Lions and 15-1 Niners.

Steelers > Eagles in the all PA supabowl, though.

Shot in the chest; reminiscent of that player who believed brain injuries had ruined his life and wanted his brain to be studied.
