We've been getting attacked heavy by spambots for whatever reason in the past few weeks so we increased the security settings to help prevent some of this. It sounds like you may have been caught in the crossfire, though I'm not sure why.
What message are you receiving when trying to access the site on your desktop? Are you using a VPN?
