People with lower incomes generally eat more poorly than people with higher incomes. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, etc. are considerably more expensive than canned, pre-packaged and processed foods. I don't live in the greatest neighborhood and it never ceases to amaze me the kind of crap I see people loading their grocery cart with when I go to the local store.

Losing weight comes down to nothing more than reducing your calorie intake and/or increasing your calorie output. Finding a way that both works and is sustainable is different for each person. You need to find a way that works for you. People can tell you to eat this or follow a particular workout regiment, and while they might be good suggestions, the reality is that they probably won't work for you. There aren't any easy tricks or gimmicks to losing weight or getting into shape. It requires a lifestyle change. You need to find something that meets your goals and fits your personality.
I have to disagree with this. A lot of people that are poor, as in small income opposed to no income, eat lots of fresh homecooked food. You can easily feed a family with 5-8$ a meal, meals that include plenty of fresh ingredients.
