I'm not trying to spend the money that a nice 1911 costs and if I'm going to spend $1300 on a pistol, I might as well just upgrade to a D.Eagle. Maybe once I get settled into married life I'll splurge a bit more.
I put 100 rounds through both the Glock 19 and 23 and felt comfortable with both, as far as accuracy, trigger pull, size, etc. With no price difference between the two, I'll more than likely end up with the .40 cal.
Why do you talk about the Glock like it's a second rate choice? I've only heard good things about them.
I don't think there's a whole lot of bad things that could be said about a Glock as a carry gun. They're definitely not 'second rate' in any way. I personally would rather carry a 1911, but if I owned a Glock, I wouldn't hesitate to carry it. Really, you can't go wrong as long as you ditch the .25.
Ammo in .40 might cost more than 9mm if you plan to shoot a lot.
