I hear you.

The housekeeping staff in my building are really friendly people. The woman who does my office is super fun to talk to. It helped me get over the fact that I go to ask her to sweep my office or take out my trash, when I can absolutely do these things myself and she's noticeably older than I am. I got hung up on the whole, "strong," "young" white man asking an older black woman to do simple chores for me. I was comfortable enough talking to her to hash it out. I told her that I didn't know how to not feel like a schmuck when I asked her to do these things and she laughed at me. She said most people get all high-and-mighty about having position over her, and she got used to that decades ago. She assured me that we have different jobs and we're paid to do different things; she's paid to sweep and take out trash and I'm not.

'Nuff said.

Besides, if you can't pay people to do things you don't want to do, then what's the point of employment in the first place?
If you can't use your money to avoid unpleasant things and spend more time doing pleasant things, then what's the point of earning money?

EDIT: IDK if it's true, but I'd be more paranoid of getting my stuff stolen if the person coming into my home was only earning minimum wage.
