Good episode. I like the raw realism of just cutting the rope on the climbers and Ros' death. And the three upcoming weddings make it pretty exciting in King's Landing aswell. Having Sansa be so joyful about her supposed weddings is just so.. evil. Speaking of evil, Little Finger feels like he's up to be killed soon. His part should be sufficiently played out now.

Also Tywin is still the man. Appreciating him more and more.

I think Littlefinger plays a necessary role. Without him, there's no true mischievous dealings from the inside. He and Varys are a specific contrast that has played since the very beginning. Littlefinger is a real player in the game of thrones, and he will try to rule over the ashes if he can. I think the way I have him dying is at the very end of the series and in a surprising way.

So far, none of the deaths have been surprising. They've all been snugly written out of the show in the process of their demise. I look forward to the first surprise death, but I also don't think it will happen until the end, if it does at all. Drama rarely uses surprise deaths of major characters because it cant. It's not a coincidence that Scorsese keeps just about everybody alive until the end, then kills them all. Also Shakespeare

On that note, the marginal characters don't count. Ones like Ros and Craster play such small roles that they always could go at any minute. I was honestly surprised every time I saw Ros return. She was a nobody

She's a nobody, but one that is known by many characters and had her fair share of screen time too. Tyrion fucked her, Theon was in love with her. So she had her niche. I really like idea in GoT that anyone can go at any time, it adds extra tension to every episode. Except ofcourse for the really integral characters like John Snow, Arya (who basically have their own storyline), Tyrion etc.

About Littlefinger, from a storytelling pov I took that his killing of Ros could be a way of vilifying him to set up his death. But on the other hand he's making heavy speeches and like you say he's intertwined in the game for the throne so he has his own importance. But I just hate the way him and Varys always speak in such bombastic and methaphorical ways, I wouldn't mind either of them going.

Fuck yeah, the speech / montage / voiceover bit where he goes on about chaos being a ladder, over a scene of joffrey looking over the bolt-ridden body of Ros was just fucking awesome. Nicely culminated in ending with his talk of climbing, seamlessly transitioning into the climb at the wall in the north.

These are the types of things that you just can't get with a book. Not putting the books down obv, I haven't read them and I will once the series is done...

I was bored with this scene honestly. I feel like he laid on the metaphor too thick, and it became really obvious really quickly that the speech would end with a shot of the north.

Fine, there was enough time in the episode left and the climbing scene had to be wrapped up before the end, look at you being so smart figuring that one out. Go read your fucking books.
