    so true...

Phil Hellmuth was recently standing up, away from his table, as is his penchant. At a nearby table, Mark Vos asked his opponents whether they thought it would be better to eliminate Hellmuth from the tournament holding the best hand and having it hold up, or holding the worst hand and sucking out. One of the players responded that it would be better to suck out. That player's rationale? "For the rest of your career, every time you see Hellmuth, he'll say, 'Do you remember that hand from the 2008 Main Event...'"
  25. #100
On a board of 6h5d4d, Phil Hellmuth was involved in a three-way pot with Felix Osterland and Barry Leventhal. Hellmuth checked from middle position and Leventhal moved all in for 399,000. Leventhal said, "If I lose, I'm gonna go to the buffet." There was some additional chit-chat but Osterland eventually folded and the action was on Phil Hellmuth. "I know you got something," said Hellmuth. "I got a bluff," replied Leventhal. After some additonal back-and-forth between the two men, Hellmuth eventually folded Qd7d face up. "Wow! How can you fold that?" asked David Saab from a nearby table. The table encouraged Leventhal to show but he eventually mucked face down.

    sick!

a guy from another poker forum i post on (boards.ie) is cl!!!!!

When all the dust had settled on the preflop action, Garth Paul's whole stack of 350,000 was in the middle against 350,000 of James McManus' chips. McManus had the best hand with {10-Hearts} {10-Spades}, but he was racing against Paul's {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}. Both players hit the {A-Spades} {J-Spades} {10-Diamonds} flop. The turn {4-Spades} gave Paul a flush draw to go along with his gutshot straight draw against McManus' set, but the river blanked out the {2-Hearts}. Paul was eliminated on the hand.

McManus is our presumptive chip leader at this time, with approximately 3.4 million in chips.

Thomas Keller Doubles Through Aaron Gordon

Thomas Keller was all in before the flop with pocket nines and was up against Aaron Gordon's {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. Gordon caught a gutshot draw on the {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} {Q-Clubs} flop but the board ran out {2-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} and Keller doubled up.

    Tiffany Michelle= Last Woman Standing

With Lisa Parsons' elimination in 76th place, Poker News' own Tiffany Michelle is officially the last woman standing in the 2008 WSOP Main Event, taking the crown from her good friend, Maria Ho, who did the same in last year's Main Event, where she ultimately finished 38th.

Michelle's stack currently stands at just over 3.4 million.

If she wins the ME then I move my roll permanently to UB.

Aaron Gordon Doubles Through Chino Rheem

With the board reading {Q-Spades} {J-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} on the turn, Aaron Gordon got the remainder of his stack all in against Chino Rheem. Gordon turned over {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} for a set, while Rheem needed help with {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. The river was the {5-Spades} and Rheem's stack was sliced in half. He was left with 2,450,000 while Gordon doubled to 4,500,000.
