I thought sangria was wine + brandy + fruit.

Seems scandalous to sell it at 5.5%.

Do you not use proof in the UK?
Proof is double the % alcohol by volume.
E.g. 5.5% alcohol = 11 proof

Nope & you're forgetting the fruit juice. I can't complain too much it was nice. I think proof is more of a europe thing.

I'd always expect it to be weaker than wine but I was assuming 8-10%.
