Default Buying Xbox, there's like 5 billion versions

Looking to buy an xbox 360 off amazon sometime this week. There's a bunch of different versions, different built in hard drives, etc etc. What's the new xbox system have vs the old 360 version? How much of a hard drive do I want? I don't plan on downloading movies to it or many games for that matter. I have a ps3 that has a built in hd with 40gb and I've been more than fine for the last 2 years. I think the only game I downloaded to it was the arcade TMNT and some demos.

    Find me some recommendations!

Go with the new S (I guess on Amazon they call it the elite) model if you are going to buy it new. Quieter, less power draw, and it isn't a piece of shit white case. I would go for the 250 since it is the biggest and bigger is better right.

Yeah, I guess the new black one is the way to go. What use will I get out of the 250GB? That's what I'm trying to figure out. It does look like you can rip games to the HD now so you don't need to constantly insert CDs.

Game ripping, xbox arcade games that you buy with those shitty ass MS point cards. I don't think you can purchase the new model with a smaller hard drive yet.

I also forgot the built in Wi-Fi.

Not a huge fan of using wifi for my gaming console. The xbox will be within 3 feet of my internet box. Wifi is still slower for online gaming (I lub da shooters).

This is the new sexbox that I have

    Microsoft Xbox 360 250GB S Gaming System with Wi-Fi - Black Gloss - Microsoft - Toys "R" Us

And they claim that it's red ring free and ventilated one hundred fold better than the previous model.

I don't buy it, but I needed a new xbox because my old one red rang.

I thought they fixed that with newer versions of the old white 360 (mine is a newer white one with no problems), but I did read that the new one has temp sensors and warns you on screen when if it's getting too hot and will shut itself down if you don't do it yourself.

But it also looks like you need to be careful not to move or bump your system while it's on (not that that's likely a common occurance.)

Well, I guess I'll buy the new one. I plan on getting gears 2 and Bad Company 2 to kick it off.

If you have a ps3, I really don't see any reason to get an xbox. Gears of war wouldn't justify the sunk cost of getting a weaker gaming system. The only reason I didn't move to ps3 over getting a new xbox was because of my gaming library.
