Default buying a new pc, ADVICE GIVETH

For better or for worse I'm upgrading, I guess to let Diablo 3 take over my life. I haven't built a PC in like 8 years so I've been out of the game, anyone have any feedback/advice? I'd like a build that I can survive on for the next 5 years or so.

    RAM: G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 $59.99
Vid Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti $134.99
    HD: Samsung 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA $79.99
DVD: ASUS 24X DVD Burner $17.99

You're power supply is overkill. Your video card needs a min of 400. I highly recommend getting a small SSD as well. It will do wonders for your performance.

You can prob find all of these parts for cheaper if there's a sale? Power supply does seem a bit overkill if u wanna save money. Win7 can prob find cheaper. And +1 for getting a small SSD.

    I'm building this one...

GAMMA Classic Series ATX Mid Tower Interior Steel Chassis (Black) - $40

    Crucial 128 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s - $125

    Intel Core i5 3570K Processor 3.4 4 BX80637I53570K (Ivy Bridge) - $220

MSI Radeon HD 6870 1 GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity R6870 Twin Frozr II - $180

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom - $65

    Crucial 122435 RAM Module - 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) - DDR3 SDRAM 1333 MHz DDR3-1333/PC3-10600 - Non-ECC - Unbuffered - 240-pin DIMM - $45

    Gigabyte Intel Z77 LGA1155 AMD CrossFireX/NVIDIA SLI DVI/HDMI Dual UEFI BIOS mATX Motherboard GA-Z77MX-D3H - $130

    THAT SAME ASUS DRIVE

Kinda skimped on GPU but I think the 6870 is a good value. I guess my e-penis will shrink because I can't run Witcher 2 on ultra maximum or something. I really like the GTX 570 but I think that's around $300. Also, I think for $50 more you can get an SSD that does 6 gb/s (the Crucial does 3gb/s). I figure since my PC is 8 years old, I'll be happy anyways.

Ya, I got to shell out $99 for win 7 too. I looked a little bit but I don't think you can get it cheaper. Also, gl getting D3 to run smooth on a Linux w/ Wine.

Go to microcenter.com and see if they have a store near you....you can get the 1045t 6 core phenom processor with a free motherboard for 99 bucks...Its what I am currently running and I built one for my brother too. Microcenter always has great combo deals.
