Also, if you play battlefield you should definitely consider using the controller for the helis and jets. Battleblock theatre and Castle Crashers are also very controller friendly

The first time Bigred and I played portal 2 together I told him I was using a controller instead of KB/M and he was like "...ew." For portal at least, he had a point. KB/M is way easier
I got Tomb Raider. It's fucking amazing with a controller. I never thought I would prefer a controller with a game like this, but it's so well implemented.

It's third person action adventure, controller sounds ideal!

Tomb Raider is already in my steam library (backlog, lol), so you're enjoying it then? I have to say action adventure / third person / open world is my fave genre so I'm almost certainly going to love TR when I get around to it

I'm usually not for story driven games. I'm probably not going back to Alien Isolation because it drags itself out too much. I played like 15 min. of the new Wolfenstein and hated how it forced you through the levels. I did eventually get through the Walking Dead, but I'm not a fan of how obvious it is that your choices don't influence anything. That game saves itself by having a great story though.

The pacing of Tomb Raider is perfect. You kill some things, then you move on to the next cutscene. There are no endless wave of enemies, not everyone you meet is hostile. You can make somewhat strategic decisions. You get just the right level of: do you want to explore, or just get on with it? The acting and animation is good enough that I have no desire to mash the skip button. The camera movement is very well done. It feels almost like playing a 2&1/2 D platformer. you hardly need to control the camera at all. The only other game I remember that used camera movement like that was the first Silent Hill. It's not quite the same level of genius, but it's very good.

Only about 1hr in, but so far I'm loving it. To mention the obvious: you get to look at a very nice cgi butt for the entire game. An underused asset in video games if I may say so myself.

So I finally got around to playing Tomb raider (lol 18 months after ^ this post) and yeah, it's pretty good. There are some niggles that stop it from reaching the pinnacle of action/adventure gaming but the tight controls (95% of the time anyway), great graphics and solid pacing have made for a fun experience so far. Would recommend.

I'm about 10 hours in I think, and haven't skipped a cutscene yet either.

One of the few games I have actually finished. The boss battle at the end is kind of dull, but what boss battle isn't. Rise of the Tomb Raider comes out in a couple of months... What a great year for video games 2015 was, and I played hardly any of them. I feel like taking a month off just to play games. I'm just getting started with CS:GO after having it in my steam library for a couple of years. I'm improving at Dota, so I want to get at least a game in every day, and LOTV is coming out so I need to practice my Starcrafts and get decent again. Overwatch beta just started. Witcher 3... no chance in hell I'd have time to finish that.
I don't do drugs, but if I did I'd defintely get high and play Metal Gear Solid V.
