you'll need a reservation for that many the bar is usally only for parties of 1-2(occasionally 3).
they only take reservations for the immediate day. i think the phone lines open at 3pm. yes you can try for a 8pm reservation.
i have only done the bar, i'm too cool for the tables.

Yeah, the bar is cooler but I have a group of people who want to try it out. Apparently PDT was on the food channel for its hot dogs (and cocktails of course) and now my group of friends have hardon to go.

try taking them to the pegu club(houston st), the drinks are excellent and easier to get in to than pdt. 5 spots at the bar should not lbe that hard on a weekday before 7pm.
