Like any trade, base salary depends largely on location (Los Angeles, CA vs Tulsa, OK) and specialty (motion graphics vs print design). I could give you a more meaningful answer if you were specific about what field of graphics you were interested in.

I had to give this one a lot of thought.

Places I have lived (for a period of time longer than an average "vacation," i.e., more than just a few weeks):

South Korea: Was born and lived there until I was six years old. Don't remember too much of it, so I can't say it's my favorite.

Costa Rica: It was an awesome experience (living there for 3 months). But in the end, I decided not to buy a house there to stay. I have friends there now that I'll be visiting, but I think I want to have that kind of experience (of temporarily "living" elsewhere) in other places.

Redondo Beach, CA: Definitely the place I call home for the time being. I generally like it here, I like my house and I have good friends. But for years now, I have gotten bored with everything. The same conversations with the same types of people, doing the same things, week after week, month after month. This is normal life for most people. But I want more. I get high from being surrounded by people of a different culture, of being in a foreign place and exploring, and... well... I kinda like being anonymous. It's liberating and challenging.

So... since I'm choosing to stay here in Redondo Beach right now, I guess it's the favorite place I've lived. But I can't say I love living here. My journey has only begun.
