Sounds good, but how are they going to get money back to people? I thought the whole fraud/laundering charges came about because of the methods used to pay players.

well the DOJ can just be like "its all good, you can send money back.."

And was it ever really illegal to pay out money? I thought it was just illegal to process the transfers to the sites.

This is one of the biggest problems that most, if not all, recreational players deal with.

Join the queue ppl, this doesn't necessarily mean you will be paid out soon. I put in a request on Saturday and there is no action from Stars yet. I haven't heard of many non-US folks having success in withdrawing funds either.

Prolly like the whole NETELLER thing, ya?

I don't seen individual peeps getting punished for cashing out / depositing.

Returning the funds doesn’t appear to be an open and shut case. Within minutes of the Department of Justice announcing the deal, Full Tilt Poker commented in a press release obtained by Poker News Daily, “As a result of the recent enforcement action, there exists no authorized U.S. payment channel through which to make refunds; Full Tilt Poker has no accounting of the millions of dollars of player funds that were seized by the government; and the government has not agreed to permit any of the seized player funds to be returned to the players.” - Poker News Daily

    How ridiculous is this?

DOJ: Go ahead and give players back their money
FTP: What? How? Wasn't that what we got in trouble for??? And by the way, are you going to stop seizing our accounts then?

"In addition, the agreements do not prohibit, and, in fact, expressly allow for, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to provide for, and facilitate, players outside of the United States to engage inplaying online poker for real money. "

So the US government is allowing a non-US business to continue doing business with non-US customers. Isn't that nice of them.

for you, this is not great news. For us, this is great news. If you don't care or don't get it (and it's clear from your tone in these threads you don't), there are lots of non us threads you can post in.

Wouldn't be the first time that the US government has interfered in affairs outside the US, so I guess we should be thankful that they've chosen not to do so now

Anyway, I hope that everybody gets their money back in a timely fashion, I had a nervous enough wait to get mine out (hit this morning) and I'm not in the US.

Probably not.. crossing you fingers is just a silly superstition, we all know only God can influence the outcome of an event using only his will.

Yes, and that shit needs to stop.

The events in Team America World Police seem to be true, after all.
